Car Ramps Into Yongin Starbucks... 2 Seriously Injured, 6 Hurt
Eight customers were injured when a vehicle crashed into a coffee shop in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
According to explanations from the police and fire department on the 2nd, at around 2:49 p.m. that day, a Hyundai Grandeur driven by a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, crashed into a Starbucks store building in Bojeong-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin City.
The eight injured customers were immediately taken to the hospital, and it was reported that two of them sustained serious injuries.
Investigations revealed that the accident occurred suddenly as Mr. A was leaving the store after having coffee. Mr. A reportedly claimed to the police that the vehicle experienced sudden unintended acceleration. No signs of alcohol consumption were detected in the breathalyzer test.
