Jeonnam Fire Headquarters Secures Golden Time for Critical Patients with AI Ambulance
Selected as Final Winner in NIPA Contest
20 Ambulances Equipped with Artificial Intelligence Features
Securing the golden time for critically ill emergency patients in the Jeonnam region is expected to become easier.
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) announced on the 2nd that Jeonnam Province was finally selected for the AI Ambulance contest project hosted by the Information and Communication Industry Promotion Agency. The project will be implemented sequentially starting from May this year.
With a national budget investment of 1 billion KRW, the system will be installed in 20 ambulances within the province and will be pilot-operated for the next two years.
The intelligent emergency medical system automatically analyzes the condition of emergency patients and transmits the data to hospitals, enabling medical institutions to prepare optimal treatment plans such as surgery preparation before the patient arrives.
Ambulances will be equipped with communication cameras that collect video, Bluetooth microphones that collect audio, and tablets (5G), and the collected data will be shared with the 119 comprehensive situation room and medical institutions.
Emergency patient information monitoring devices will also be installed in six hospitals within the province (Seonggarolo Hospital, Yeosu Jeonnam Hospital, Suncheon Hanguk Hospital, Suncheon Medical Center, Suncheon Jeil Hospital, and Gwangyang Seoul Hospital), allowing real-time confirmation of patient information.
