‘K-Jeongwon’ Wins Gold Award at Qatar International Horticultural Expo
The Korea Forest Service announced on the 3rd that the Korean Pavilion won the 'Gold Award' in the large national pavilion exhibition category at the Qatar Doha International Horticultural Expo, held for the first time in the Middle East region.

View original imageThe expo, themed "Green Desert, Better Environment," was held from October 2 last year until the 28th of last month. A total of 80 countries and international organizations, including Korea, Japan, Italy, and Saudi Arabia, participated in this expo.
At the expo, the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) and the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) conducted evaluations and on-site inspections of 80 national pavilions based on criteria such as the degree of technological innovation and theme reflection. As a result, Korea received excellent evaluations for harmoniously showcasing the K-Garden and smart agriculture technologies by combining advanced ICT technologies such as outdoor gardens inspired by domestic forests with traditional beauty, vertical farms, and agricultural robots.

During the expo, the Korea Forest Service and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs created the Korean Pavilion, which presented a garden reflecting traditional Korean rituals alongside smart agriculture technologies, drawing positive responses from visitors. Kim Yong-gwan, Director of Forest Protection at the Korea Forest Service, said, "The excellence of the K-Garden was once again proven at the Qatar Doha International Horticultural Expo," adding, "The Korea Forest Service will focus its efforts on training garden artists and spreading garden culture to globalize the K-Garden."
