Sinan-gun Cancels 'Palgeum Island Canola Flower Festival' Due to Insufficient Sunshine
Canola Flowers Show 70-80% Growth Retardation Amid Abnormal Temperatures
Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) announced on the 2nd that the '2024 Palgeum Island Canola Flower Festival,' scheduled to be held from the 12th to the 21st in the Palgeum-myeon Canola Flower Scenic Complex area, has been canceled.

The Palgeum Canola Flower Scenic Complex, covering an area of 231 hectares, was preparing to welcome tourists through the 'Palgeum Island Canola Flower Festival,' which was to be held for the second time this year. However, due to frequent rain and lack of sunlight caused by abnormal weather conditions, the growth of canola flowers has been poor, making it difficult to create a festive atmosphere.
Although the festival has been canceled, a trail with canola flowers as the backdrop will be opened around Jangmok Parking Lot for tourists visiting Palgeum, the Yellow Island.
