Boryeong Mugunghwa Arboretum, Spotlighted as a Healing and Relaxation Space
170m Flower Tunnel, the Best Photo Zone in Spring
Planned to be Established in the First Half of the Year at the Children's Forest Experience Center
Mugunghwa Arboretum in Boryeong, Chungnam, is gaining attention as a space for healing and relaxation.
The 170-meter-long flower tunnel, where pear blossoms and spiraea bloom harmoniously from April to May, is the best photo zone in spring and receives great responses from tourists.
From the entrance of the arboretum, the barrier-free sharing path lined with fully bloomed yellow forsythias leading to the exhibition hall is a walking trail that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can easily and comfortably stroll along.
This year in the first half, the arboretum plans to establish a children's forest experience center that preserves the existing terrain and trees such as the cypress forest and ecological wetlands as much as possible.
In addition, on the forest sky path, visitors can overlook the Mugunghwa Arboretum from an average height of 10 meters, and enjoy green therapy through various forest experience facilities such as succulent plants and a four-season greenhouse, exhibition hall, and cypress forest (picnic area).
At the wood culture experience center, visitors can try woodworking crafts such as making nameplates, animal dolls, bookstands, organizers, and wooden trays.
The Mugunghwa Arboretum covers a total area of 24 hectares and is composed of about 1,000 species of plant resources including trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants, with over 6,000 various Mugunghwa trees of about 150 species such as Samcheonri, Gwangmyeong, Hanmaeum, and Seondeok planted.
The arboretum operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from March to October, with free admission and parking, and is closed every Monday and on designated holidays (January 1, Lunar New Year, Chuseok).
