Fire in Container Near Sungkyunkwan University... Woman in Her 30s Dies
A fire broke out at a container located in front of the wall of Sungkyunkwan University in Jongno-gu, Seoul, around 5 a.m. on the 31st, resulting in the death of a woman in her 30s.
According to the Jongno Fire Station, the fire authorities responded to a passerby's report of "visible flames" at 5:04 a.m. that day and completely extinguished the fire within 17 minutes. However, Ms. Lee (35), who was inside, was found dead.
The container, which was used as a cleaning supplies storage by the Jongno District Office, was also completely burned down, causing property damage estimated at around 2 million won.
The deceased was confirmed not to be an employee affiliated with the Jongno District Office.
