Jin Gyo-hoon, Gangseo District Mayor, Encourages Community Contribution Scholarship Recipients
Jin Gyo-hoon, Mayor of Gangseo District Office in Seoul, attended the 'Community Contribution Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony' held at the district office's main conference room at 4 p.m. on the 29th to encourage the students.
Mayor Jin said, "The community contribution scholarship system, which helps vulnerable children with learning guidance and career exploration through students' talent donations, holds great significance beyond just a scholarship. It embodies sharing, consideration, and the value of community," adding, "I hope this experience and learning will serve as a stepping stone for the students to grow into leaders who guide the local community."
The community contribution scholarship is a program where local university students contribute to the community by mentoring educationally disadvantaged youth.
The 40 selected scholarship recipients will provide learning guidance, career counseling, and consultation for concerns to elementary, middle, and high school students at local children's centers or welfare centers for the next nine months.
