Recruiting Startups to Collaborate on Projects with Large Corporations
2024 Public-Private Partnership Open Innovation Support Project
Recruiting Approximately 64 Startups
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 28th that it will recruit startups to participate in this year's 'Public-Private Partnership Open Innovation (OI) Support Project' program. This project is designed to induce open partnerships for win-win cooperation between the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, large and medium-sized enterprises, public institutions, and startups, and to establish and support collaboration systems. It consists of ▲Problem-Solving (Top-Down) ▲Autonomous Proposal (Bottom-Up) ▲Demand-Based (On-Demand) programs.
In this announcement, startups will be selected to participate in the Problem-Solving and Autonomous Proposal programs. Selected companies will receive up to 100 million KRW in commercialization funds and up to 120 million KRW in technology development funds to be used for idea concretization and collaboration processes to solve tasks.
The Problem-Solving program involves demand companies such as large enterprises submitting collaboration tasks, and startups solving the problems of these demand companies. This year, 16 collaboration tasks from a total of 15 demand companies wishing to collaborate with startups were selected. After two stages of evaluation and mentoring, a total of 48 startups will be selected.

The Autonomous Proposal program supports collaboration between startups and large, medium-sized, and public enterprises by linking with startup nurturing programs operated in the private sector. Starting this year, a cluster-linked track was newly established to promote balanced development such as regional economic revitalization, and 16 collaboration tasks from a total of 15 demand companies were selected. For the Autonomous Proposal program, large enterprises publicly recruit startups to carry out tasks by project, and if 16 collaboration startups selected through their own evaluation are recommended, support will be provided in connection with the Public-Private Partnership Open Innovation Support Project.
