This Minister, Approximately 490 Million Won Less Than Previous Report
Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min reported assets worth approximately 3.941 billion KRW.
According to the 2024 regular asset change report for public officials posted in the government gazette by the Government Ethics Committee on the 28th, the assets reported under the names of Minister Lee and his spouse amounted to 3.94115 billion KRW.
This is a decrease of 493.92 million KRW compared to the previous report (4.43507 billion KRW).
Although the minister's salary savings and deposit interest increased, the overall assets decreased due to the decline in the official price of the owned apartment and the exclusion of the assets (454.63 million KRW) of his mother who passed away last August from the report.

In deposits under his name, he holds 553.55 million KRW, and deposits under his spouse's name amount to 71.69 million KRW, totaling 625.25 million KRW. He owns two cars under his name: a 2021 Grandeur (24.37 million KRW) and a 2014 E300 (14.43 million KRW).
Minister Lee reported holding approximately 46.8 million KRW in securities under his name, including JW Pharmaceutical, Samsung Electronics, POSCO Holdings, and Hyundai Motor common stocks. As for memberships, he reported his Cosmopolitan Fitness Club membership (36 million KRW) and his wife's Blue Heron Golf membership (30 million KRW).
The minister's eldest son refused to disclose his assets citing independent livelihood reasons.
Deputy Minister of the Interior and Safety Ko Gi-dong reported assets worth 1.0277 billion KRW. He owns an apartment in Haemil Village 2 Complex, Haemil-dong, Sejong City (453 million KRW, 84.54㎡) under his name and holds deposits totaling 478.38 million KRW under his and his family's names in banks and securities firms.
Lee Han-kyung, Director of the Disaster and Safety Management Headquarters at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, reported 1.68161 billion KRW, and Kim Min-jae, Deputy Director at the Ministry, reported 2.27026 billion KRW respectively.
