View original imageKaitus Technology (CEO Kim Won-hee, hereinafter referred to as ‘Kaitus’) announced on the 26th that it has signed a business agreement with Seonjin Special Vehicles (CEO Lee Hee-chan) for the joint development of a mobile anti-drone vehicle.
Through this business agreement, the two companies plan to collaborate on the development of a mobile Anti-Drone System (ADS) vehicle by combining Kaitus’s expertise in the anti-drone field with Seonjin Special Vehicles’ know-how in manufacturing specialized special vehicles.
Founded in 1992, Seonjin Special Vehicles was registered as a partner of Hyundai Motor Company in 1997 and possesses various special vehicle production technologies and portfolios. The company plans to enhance quality and reduce costs by domesticating various products handled by Kaitus, thereby strengthening market competitiveness.
Anti-drone systems are designed to neutralize illegal drones used for terrorism, crime, unauthorized filming, and other unlawful activities. Existing mobile ADS vehicles have a critical drawback in that they cannot be used while the vehicle is moving and must be stationary to operate detection equipment.
Kaitus plans to launch a high-performance Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar that overcomes the limitations of existing mobile ADS vehicles. According to the company, this radar enables continuous detection even while in motion, making it an innovative system for protecting key figures and state guests.
A Kaitus representative stated, “Through this business agreement, we will combine Seonjin Special Vehicles’ excellent quality and production capabilities with our technology to lead a new paradigm in the mobile ADS market. Furthermore, by domesticating products, we will contribute to the revival of K-defense industry.”
