Seoul Public Institutions Sign MOU for Youth Guidance in Scientific Crime Prevention Education
Agreement Ceremony Held at Seoul Science Museum at 4 PM on the 26th
Collaboration on Developing Forensic Science Experience Content
Scholarship Support for Outstanding Students
Public institutions in the Seoul area have joined forces to jointly develop science-based public safety education for youth.
The Nowon Police Station, Seoul Science Museum, and Seoul Northern Office of Education held a business agreement ceremony at 4 p.m. on the 26th at the Science Hall on the first floor of the Seoul Science Museum to develop science public safety education and promote youth guidance projects.
This agreement was promoted to develop youth-tailored science public safety education content, such as forensic science experiences that are difficult to encounter in schools, by involving the police forensic investigation team together with the Seoul Science Museum, and to provide opportunities for youth with limited access to science education, thereby creating a chance to escape from crises such as school violence and nurture their dreams.
The three institutions agreed to mutually cooperate on △ operating the science career experience club 'Gwahak Chian Kkumnuri-dan' △ mutual cooperation for developing forensic science experience content △ special experience and exhibition operations for preventing youth addiction (gambling and drugs) crimes.
'Gwahak Chian Kkumnuri-dan' is a youth science career experience club that will recruit members in April and hold an inauguration ceremony. It provides level-based education on an annual basis, not just one-time experiential education. At the Seoul Science Museum, science education, forensic science experiences, and upcycling craft making will be conducted, and the Seoul Northern Office of Education will support various science programs by linking related institutions for science education and experiences.
Outstanding students in activities will receive awards from the Northern Office of Education and the Nowon District Office, and scholarships will be sponsored by the Nowon District Pharmaceutical Association and the Nowon Youth Development Association. The Nowon District Office Child Protection Agency plans to collaborate to provide various career experience opportunities for youth interested in science despite difficult environments.
In the future, each institution will actively support science education experience programs according to the agreement and gradually expand cooperating institutions such as university clubs and youth career experience organizations in the district to provide various science experience opportunities including robotics and drones.
