Hanwha Ocean Wins Order for 8 LNG Ships Worth 2.44 Trillion KRW... "Estimated for Qatar"
Hanwha Ocean announced on the 25th that it has secured an order for eight liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers worth 2.4393 trillion KRW from a shipowner in the Oceania region.
This contract is a follow-up to the memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed by Hanwha Ocean with a Middle Eastern shipping company on February 29 for 12 LNG carriers. Both parties are currently reviewing the details ahead of signing the main contract for the remaining four vessels.
Hanwha Ocean did not disclose the counterparty, but considering the order volume, it is presumed to be QatarEnergy, the Qatar state-owned energy company.
