The National Health Insurance Service Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters (Director Choi Deok-geun) held a meeting of the Long-term Care Regional Safety Network Council.
On the 21st, the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Headquarters of the Service held a meeting of participating organizations of the ‘Long-term Care Safety Council,’ composed of 25 members from 14 institutions including metropolitan local governments and institutional associations in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, and announced the event.
This council, led by the Service, performs safety network functions in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam care field with metropolitan local governments, institutional associations, the National Police Agency, Fire and Disaster Headquarters, Elderly Protection Agencies, and Infectious Disease Management Support Groups, focusing on ▲prevention of elder abuse ▲prevention of safety accidents ▲protection of elderly human rights ▲infectious disease field consulting.
At this meeting, they produced and distributed a ‘Life Information Status Board’ for residential facilities and a ‘Medical Information Card’ for home-based elderly, and provided opportunities for safety knowledge education and experience, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, to Service employees and institution workers.
Council officials welcomed the enactment of the ‘Act on Integrated Support for Community Care including Medical and Long-term Care,’ which passed the National Assembly on February 29, ahead of the super-aged society, aiming to enable citizens facing difficulties in daily life due to frailty or disability to enjoy a healthy life where they live.

Director Choi Deok-geun said, “As a single insurer with big data, a nationwide organization, and experience in medical care and long-term care, the Service will actively support the ongoing ‘Medical Care Integrated Support Pilot Project’ to realize continuous community residence support, ensuring a dignified old age for the elderly and alleviating the care burden on the public.”
