President Yoon Suk-yeol on the 21st urged everyone?including schools, education offices, local and central governments, businesses, and communities?to cooperate in finding good programs related to the Neulbom School program and to contribute their talents generously.
During a meeting with parents and teachers at Myeongryun Elementary School in Wonju, Gangwon Province, in the afternoon, President Yoon said, "The most important task is to prepare high-quality programs so that children who want to learn can enjoy fair learning opportunities."
This visit to Neulbom School came just a week after his visit on the 14th to Oryong Elementary School Neulbom School located in Muan, Jeollanam-do. President Yoon believes that the national care system, Neulbom School, must succeed to reduce private education expenses and reverse the declining birthrate.
President Yoon expressed his gratitude, saying, "Myeongryun Elementary School is located in an old downtown area with limited local resources, but it operates various programs such as music, traditional games, life science, computer, and art by utilizing the school's unused spaces. More than 80% of first-grade elementary students participate in Neulbom School, and I thank the superintendent and field officials who worked hard to prepare this." He also emphasized that the government will spare no policy or financial support to ensure the successful operation of Neulbom School.
