Busan City Selects 'Busan Emergency Medical Support Center' as Emergency Medical Support Group Contractor
Selected at the City Hall on the 20th at 3 PM by the Entrusted Agency Selection Deliberation Committee
Review of This Year's Regional Emergency Medical Implementation Plan and Discussion on Emergency Medical Measures
On the 20th at 3 p.m., Busan City held a meeting of the Emergency Medical Support Group Trustee Institution Selection Deliberation Committee at City Hall and selected the Busan Emergency Medical Support Center as the trustee institution.
The Trustee Institution Selection Deliberation Committee was attended by seven deliberation members composed of city officials, fire department personnel, and emergency medical experts.
Until now, emergency medical services have been promoted under the leadership of the central government, making it difficult to reflect the situations and capabilities of each region. The city has promoted the formation of an Emergency Medical Support Group to improve this and provide emergency medical services that citizens can directly experience.
Considering the expertise required for the tasks to be performed by the Emergency Medical Support Group, the city decided on entrusted operation and selected the Busan Emergency Medical Support Center as the trustee institution through the Trustee Institution Selection Deliberation Committee.
The Busan Emergency Medical Support Center, affiliated with the National Medical Center, manages and provides various information related to emergency medical services, conducts education and training for emergency medical personnel, and plays roles in disaster emergency medical response.
The Busan Emergency Medical Support Center, selected as the trustee institution on this day, will operate the city’s Emergency Medical Support Group until 2026. The Emergency Medical Support Group will analyze the current status and resources of the city’s emergency medical services and perform various roles to promote region-customized and regionally complete emergency medical services.
It will comprehensively grasp and analyze the overall status of the city’s emergency medical services, including emergency medical statistics and indicator management, case management of emergency medical institutions, and resources such as medical personnel and facilities of emergency medical institutions.
Based on this, plans will be prepared for regional emergency medical implementation plans that citizens can directly experience, region-customized transport and transfer guidelines, and improvement measures for pediatric and adolescent emergency medical services.
Additionally, it will support various emergency medical tasks promoted by the city and the city’s Emergency Medical Committee.
Furthermore, at 2 p.m. on the 20th, the city held the 1st Emergency Medical Committee meeting chaired by the Director of the City Citizen Health Bureau at City Hall. The committee, composed of experts and stakeholders from various fields, reviewed this year’s regional emergency medical plan and discussed future emergency medical measures.
The regional emergency medical plan contains comprehensive emergency medical policies of the city, is prepared annually, and goes through deliberation and resolution by the city’s Emergency Medical Committee.
On this day, the city shared the status of attendees and emergency medical institutions, which are key to the emergency medical system, and urged continuous maintenance of emergency medical services in preparation for prolonged medical service gaps. The city also introduced support measures from both the city and the government for emergency medical institutions.
