The health center plans to invite professional instructors to provide various programs such as mental health counseling, depression screening tests, group programs, craft activities, and recreation.
The programs are composed of easy and interesting content, making them especially popular among seniors using the welfare center.
A welfare center user said, "I don't know how happy I was when I made flowers that express the happiest day of my life," adding, "From now on, whenever I see flowers, happy and joyful days will naturally come to mind."
A city official stated, "We designed the programs to be more fun and engaging to address seniors' mental health issues such as depression and loneliness," and added, "We hope citizens will also join in warmly caring for and checking on the seniors around them with love."
Meanwhile, the city plans to gradually expand lifecycle programs for vulnerable groups in the second half of this year and sequentially operate various programs such as the Mental Health Happiness Village project.
