UN: "12,300 Children Died in Gaza Strip Over 4 Months"
The United Nations (UN) announced that over the past four months, more than 12,300 children have died in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. This number exceeds the total number of children who died in conflict zones worldwide over the past four years.
On the 14th (local time), Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), stated on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that "the war in Gaza is a war against children."
Commissioner Lazzarini cited data from the Gaza Strip's Ministry of Health, reporting that since the war between Israel and the Palestinian armed group Hamas began in October last year until last month, over 12,300 children have died in the four-month period.
He further pointed out that this number exceeds the total number of children who died in conflict zones worldwide from 2019 to 2022 (12,193).
