Byeokryu Senior Citizens' Center has served as a gathering place for the village elders, but dust and foreign substances had accumulated in window frames and hard-to-reach areas, making a large-scale cleaning necessary.
About 10 volunteers, including members of Geumcheon-myeon Jisahyeop, village chiefs, and administrative welfare center staff, participated in the cleanup, thoroughly tidying both the interior and exterior of the center?from window frames and floors to removing cobwebs and weeds?to create a pleasant environment.
Shin Hyunju, the village chief who helped with the cleaning that day, said, "I am grateful to everyone who joined to create a more comfortable environment for the elders. The village elders were very pleased that the senior citizens' center became as clean as new."
Kim Duseong, the private committee chair, said, "It was a meaningful time to personally clean for the village elders. I thank the committee members and staff who worked hard."
Choi Yoonim, the head of Geumcheon-myeon, said, "I appreciate the efforts of the Jisahyeop members who worked hard from early Monday morning to provide a comfortable senior citizens' center for the elders. We will continue to do our best on the front lines for the residents."
