Gwangyang City Connects Seomjingang River Area Integrated Tourism Belt
Seomjingang Mobile Stamp Tour, Discounts Linked to Paid Tourist Attractions, etc.
Last year, the four local governments of Gwangyang, Gurye, Hadong, and Gokseong, which declared the "First Year of the Seomjingang Tourism Era," continue their relay to establish an integrated tourism belt in the Seomjingang area.
On the 14th, Gwangyang City in Jeonnam announced that it will promote the Seomjingang mobile stamp tour and linked discounts for paid tourist attractions together with the Seomjingang area local governments.
The Seomjingang mobile stamp tour will be held in two phases: the first spring welcome phase (March 8 to April 7) and the second Enjoy Seomjingang in Spring phase (April 29 to May 26). Cash rewards will be given based on visits to a total of 12 destinations across the four local governments.
The first phase of the Gwangyang challenge includes Gwangyang Maehwa Village, the preserved house of Jeong Byeong-wook, who preserved Yun Dong-ju’s manuscripts, and Baedo Island Garden. In the second phase, Gwangyang Maehwa Village is replaced by Gubongsan Observatory.
Gurye County’s first phase destinations are Sansuyu Culture Center, Jirisan History and Culture Center, and Otter Ecology Park; the second phase includes Otter Ecology Park, Gurye Arboretum, and Korea Herbarium Museum. Gokseong County’s first and second phases include Seomjingang Train Village, Gajeong Station & Art Village, and Amnok Imagination School. Hadong County’s first and second phases include Choi Champan’s House, Hwagae Market, and Ssanggyesa Temple.
To participate in the stamp tour, install and log in to the “Cashwalk” app, then select “Seomjingang Spring Challenge” under “Teamwork.” When visiting a destination, the stamp for that tourist spot will activate in yellow, and by tapping it, participants can receive up to 10,000 cash per location.
After the challenge ends, clicking the final reward button will distribute a total of 2.5 million cash per phase according to the number of places visited to participants who visited at least one location.
The “Flower Road Seomjingang Tourism” linked discount event offers discounts at paid tourist attractions in the four cities and counties, including Gwangyang Wood Culture Experience Center, Healing Forest, Gurye Arboretum, Jirisan History and Culture Center, Hadong Cable Car, and Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village.
Residents of the four cities and counties can visit the tourist sites with an ID that verifies their address, and tourists who hold an admission ticket to one linked discount site and visit another within 30 days can receive discounts ranging from 20% to 50%.
