Kim Dong-yeon Concludes 'Opportunity Innovation Forum' "I Will Build an AI-Centered Gyeonggi-do"
Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, promised to create a "Gyeonggi Province centered on Artificial Intelligence (AI)."
Governor Kim made this statement in a post on his social media after the two-day Opportunity Innovation Forum "Time to Change Gyeonggi Province" (Gyeongbasi), held on the theme of "Artificial Intelligence (AI), Opportunities and Challenges" from the 12th to the 13th.
He first recalled, "When will generative AI surpass human intelligence? It was a question I asked Sam Altman at the Davos Forum," adding, "His answer was clear. It was the moment I truly felt the changes in the world."

View original imageHe continued, "I hope Gyeonggi Province will be at the forefront of these global changes," and added, "I want the provincial government officials to be the first to study and take on challenges."
In particular, he emphasized, "Along with the two-day Gyeongbasi forum on AI opportunities and challenges, we are starting AI Gyeonggi," and stated, "Gyeonggi Province, as the center of AI, will enhance South Korea's competitiveness."
Earlier, on the 12th and 13th, Gyeonggi Province held the Opportunity Innovation Forum Gyeongbasi at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office, themed "Artificial Intelligence (AI), Opportunities and Challenges."
The forum featured speakers such as CEO Jo Yong-min, who oversees investment and nurturing of AI technology startups (discussing the changes AI technology will bring to the world), and Professor Kim Dae-sik of KAIST (explaining understanding and preparation for the limitations of AI technology), who shared insights on the future society AI will bring and its limitations.
