Goheung-gun Accelerates Preparations for 'Nokdong Port Drone Show' Performance

Every Saturday, Over 700 Permanent Drones and More Than 1,000 Special Performance Drones

Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Yeong-min) is drawing great attention with high expectations as it prepares for the final performances of the Nokdong Port Drone Show, which will beautifully decorate the night sky of Nokdong Port again this year, following last year, providing residents and tourists with an unforgettable aerial art experience harmonizing light and music.

The Nokdong Port Drone Show, the first of its kind in the Jeollanam-do region since last year, is a representative nighttime tourism specialized permanent performance product of Goheung. It features high-quality killer content with Goheung’s unique identity and enhances the status of Goheung as a drone-centered city through various themed and directed performances every Saturday night, attracting nationwide popularity and enthusiasm.

The drone show performance is conducted by a drone specialized company that develops new drone content combining innovative swarm flight technology and artistic sensibility. This year, various audience participation and experience events linked to the drone show will be promoted to greatly increase visitor satisfaction.

The permanent performances will start one month earlier than last year, from April to November, lasting eight months. Every Saturday, a performance featuring about 700 drones will be held once a day at Nokdong Port area?at 9 PM during the summer season (April to September) and at 8 PM during the winter season (October to November).

Special performances will be held during the opening ceremony, Chuseok, Goheung Yuja Festival, year-end and New Year holidays, and the Lunar New Year holiday next year, featuring over 1,000 drones.

The first Nokdong Port Drone Show performance will kick off on Saturday, April 13, at 8 PM, starting with an exciting busking performance, followed by a drone show featuring 1,500 drones, a multimedia fireworks show, commercial drone flight demonstrations, and various other spectacular top-tier performance contents to mark the beginning.

Goheung-gun plans to revitalize the local economy and boost the vitality of Goheung tourism with youth by enhancing stay-type nighttime tourism content such as food stalls, food trucks, direct sales markets for agricultural and marine specialties, and reinforced nightscape lighting on Sorok Bridge in the Nokdong Port area where the weekend drone shows take place.

A Goheung-gun official stated, “The Nokdong Port Drone Show starting in April will use Goheung’s night sky as a stage to present a more magnificent and fantastic drone light show than last year, providing an opportunity to introduce the diverse stories of Goheung. We will do our best to significantly contribute to the activation of Goheung tourism and the local economy and commercial districts more than last year.”
