Yongin City Supports Installation and Improvement of Break Rooms for Small and Medium Manufacturing Businesses
Up to 12.5 Million KRW for Worker Environment Improvement
Targeting Companies with Fewer Than 100 Employees and Sales Under 30 Billion KRW
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that it will support the establishment and improvement of rest facilities to enhance the working environment for on-site workers at small and medium-sized enterprises and social welfare facilities.
This project aims to alleviate the financial burden on small businesses following the amendment of the Industrial Safety and Health Act in August last year, which expanded the mandatory installation of rest facilities to workplaces with fewer than 50 regular employees.
The support targets social welfare facilities, nursing hospitals, and small and medium-sized manufacturing companies within the jurisdiction that need to newly install rest facilities used by workers or require environmental improvements.
'Social welfare facilities' refer to nonprofit corporations such as social welfare corporations, foundations, and medical corporations as defined in Article 2 of the Social Welfare Services Act. Nursing hospitals must have been operating for more than one year and have fewer than 100 employees. Small and medium-sized manufacturing companies must have been in business for more than one year after business registration, have fewer than 100 employees, and have an average annual sales of 30 billion KRW or less over the past three years.
The city plans to accept applications until the 21st and select support recipients. Selected recipients will receive up to 12.5 million KRW per site for improvement costs. However, businesses must bear 5-20% of the project costs. Securing space, facility construction, and space management must be handled by the respective institutions or companies.
For goods, only heating, cooling, and ventilation facilities will be supported. Items necessary for environmental improvement and facility operation, such as tables, chairs, and lockers, will be supported, but the purchase of simple consumables is excluded.
