Muan-gun Appoints 5 Price Monitoring Agents to Manage Local Prices
Monitoring of Marts, Traditional Markets, and Service Businesses Twice a Month... Providing Price Information on 72 Items
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) appointed five price monitoring personnel on the 6th to investigate price trends and manage affordable price stores.
According to the county on the 8th, the price monitoring personnel will regularly investigate the price trends of items directly related to the daily lives of ordinary people twice a month, focusing on marts, traditional markets, and personal service businesses in densely populated areas within the jurisdiction. They will also conduct price surveys of holiday seasonal products, on-site price guidance and supervision, and manage Muan-gun’s affordable price stores, playing a central role in stabilizing local prices.

During the training held after the appointment, guidelines for operating the price monitoring system and investigation policies were delivered, recent price trends and forecasts were reviewed, and measures to stabilize local public utility fees were discussed. The importance of price stability management amid high inflation was emphasized.
The total of 72 price items surveyed through the activities of the price monitoring personnel (28 agricultural, livestock, and fishery products, 44 personal service fees) will be posted monthly on the Muan-gun website to provide important price information.
Lee Hye-hyang, Director of the Regional Economy Division, said, “Although the recent price increase trend is slowing down, prices are expected to remain relatively high until the first half of this year. The county will do its best to manage prices, including stabilizing public utility fees, to contribute to local price stability.”
