Jeongeup-si to Hold 'Cherry Blossom Festival' on Jeongeupcheon Cherry Blossom Road on the 28th

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 8th that it will hold the 2024 Cherry Blossom Festival at Jeongeupcheon Cherry Blossom Road from the 28th of this month to the 1st of next month.

Jeongeupcheon Cherry Blossom Road is a 4 km section from Jeongeup IC Intersection to Sangdong Bridge, where around 2,000 cherry blossom trees burst into bloom around the end of this month, creating a spectacular view.

The opening ceremony will take place at 6:30 PM on the second day of the festival, the 29th, at the special stage on Jeongeupcheon.

The opening ceremony will feature congratulatory performances by famous singers including Jeongeup City ambassadors Kim Yong-im, Bang Seo-hee, Kim Tae-yeon, as well as Bae Il-ho, Lim Jae-hyun, and Han Gang.

In particular, to showcase the beautiful Jeongeupcheon in light pink, nightscape lighting will be installed along a 2.9 km section from Jukrim Bridge to Jeongdong Bridge, and car-free zones will be operated in the 800 m section from Saemgol Bridge to Jeongju Bridge and the 400 m section from Chosan Bridge to Dalha Bridge.

Throughout the festival site, 40 booths including food markets, experience zones, and agricultural and specialty product markets will be operated to satisfy the tastes of people of all ages.

Additionally, to provide various pleasures to citizens and tourists, diverse performance programs such as a youth dance competition, jazz performances, bubble shows, and cherry blossom busking will be presented. Music-filled cherry blossom paths, cherry blossom photo zones, and cherry blossom canvases will also be installed to enhance the festival atmosphere.

Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “We are focusing on preparing the festival to provide the beautiful atmosphere of spring,” and added, “We have prepared various experience programs and performances, so we hope people visit the festival site and fully enjoy spring.”
