Vacancy in Company CEO Position Due to Arrest of Co-CEO Hwang Jaebok
Kang Sun-hee, CEO of SPC, resigned after one year in office.
According to industry sources on the 6th, Kang stepped down from her position as CEO on the 2nd. It has been one year since she took office as SPC CEO in March last year. It is reported that she resigned to help her husband, former Blue House Civil Affairs Secretary Kim Jin-mo, who is running in next month's general election. Kim, a former prosecutor, received the sole nomination from the People Power Party for the Cheongju Seowon electoral district.
Former CEO Kang graduated from Seoul National University Law School and passed the 30th Judicial Examination in 1988. She served as a judge at the Seoul District Court and the Seoul Central District Court. From 2004 to 2022, she worked as a vice president at SK Innovation.

After moving to SPC, she served as co-CEO alongside Hwang Jae-bok. Since Hwang was recently arrested on the 4th over allegations of coercing the Paris Baguette bakery workers' union to withdraw, the CEO position at SPC is currently vacant. The company stated, "The decision on appointing a successor CEO has not yet been made."
