Muan-gun to Undertake Second Largest Nationwide Cadastral Resurvey Project in 2024

Targeting 4 Districts and 4,827 Parcels... Secured 920 Million KRW in National Funding

Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) has secured approximately 920 million KRW in national funds for the 2024 cadastral readjustment project and will begin full-scale cadastral readjustment targeting 4 districts?Muan Sinhak 1, Cheonggye Cheongsu 1, Hyeongyeong Pyeongsan 2, and Haeje Changmae?and 4,827 land parcels.

According to the county on the 5th, the cadastral readjustment project is a long-term national project running until 2030 that corrects discrepancies between the actual status of land and the registered details in the cadastral register, converting paper-based cadastral maps into digital cadastral maps. The 4,827 parcels targeted by the county this year represent the second largest volume nationwide.

Earlier, from the 22nd to the 28th of last month, the county held resident briefing sessions for about 200 landowners and stakeholders from 9 villages in the 2024 cadastral readjustment project areas.

During the briefing sessions, explanations were given on the background and purpose of selecting each project district, project procedures, boundary setting standards, adjustment payment calculation methods, collection of landowner consent forms, and the formation of landowner councils, followed by a Q&A session.

Governor Kim San stated, “Through the cadastral readjustment project, not only will cadastral discrepancies be resolved, but boundary disputes between neighbors and inconveniences in exercising property rights will be alleviated, thereby enhancing the value of land use. We ask for the active interest and cooperation of landowners to ensure the smooth progress of the project.”

Meanwhile, Muan-gun began the cadastral readjustment project in 2012, completing 22 districts and 17,421 parcels. Following last year, this year it has secured a top-level project volume nationwide, currently progressing with 15 districts and 17,779 parcels.
