According to the agreement, the Rotary Clubs will support 390 million KRW for dentures and bridge procedures for about 600 vulnerable people in the region, and the beneficiaries can apply for medical expense support for procedures through their local eup, myeon, or dong administrative welfare centers starting from March.
The support targets are medical aid recipients aged 65 or older who have difficulty receiving dental treatment due to economic reasons, recipients of reduced co-payments under the lower-income bracket, or others recommended considering their living conditions. Recommended candidates will be finalized as beneficiaries after consultation with the Rotary Clubs if the designated dental clinics recognize the need for the procedure.
The confirmed beneficiaries can receive procedures at eight designated dental clinics within the region, appointed by the Rotary Clubs, within two weeks.
The designated dental clinics include Podonamu Dental Clinic, Dongbu Dental Clinic, Myeongjin Dental Clinic, Yes Dental Clinic, Shindongchan Dental Clinic, Withus Dental Clinic, Cheongshipja Dental Clinic, and Happy Smile Dental Clinic.
Jung Gwang-wook, president of the Dongpohang Rotary Club, said, “This agreement was promoted to support the active and bright later life of the elderly,” and added, “We will continue sharing activities in various ways for the marginalized groups in the local community.”
