Russia: "If the West Deploys Troops to Ukraine, Direct Russia-NATO Clash Is Inevitable"
As reports emerged that some Western countries, including those in Europe, might directly deploy troops to Ukraine, Russia warned that a direct confrontation is inevitable.
On the 27th (local time), Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, stated in a briefing, "If NATO member countries engage in combat in Ukraine, the dialogue must shift to the inevitability of a clash between NATO and Russia."
Spokesperson Peskov made this remark in response to a question about French President Emmanuel Macron's statement after the international conference supporting Ukraine, where he said that while the deployment of ground troops to Ukraine was not agreed upon, the possibility could not be ruled out.
