Applications accepted at Eupmyeon offices and others
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is implementing the ‘2024 Early Retirement Support Project for Old Diesel Vehicles.’
This project is promoted to reduce fine dust and other air pollutants.
The budget scale is 760 million KRW, supporting a total of 297 vehicles including 160 vehicles of Grade 5, 125 vehicles of Grade 4, and 12 construction machines. The support amount varies depending on the vehicle type and age, with vehicles under 3.5 tons receiving up to 3 million KRW for Grade 5 and up to 8 million KRW for Grade 4.
The number of supported vehicles can be flexibly adjusted within the budget range. Eligible vehicles are diesel vehicles of emission grades 4 and 5 that have been continuously registered with a usage base in Sancheong-gun for more than six months, road-use Type 3 construction machines manufactured before August 31, 2009, subject to emission standards, and forklifts and excavators manufactured before 2004.
Especially this year, Grade 4 diesel vehicles equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) at the time of release are also eligible for support. Those subject to environmental improvement charges must fully pay any outstanding charges and local taxes after vehicle deregistration to receive the subsidy.
Details such as project procedures and required documents can be found in the announcement posted on the Sancheong-gun website. Applications must be submitted to the Sancheong-gun Environmental Sanitation Division, township offices, or via mail and the internet.
