Kim Bogon and Han Sangwon Declare Candidacy for Gwangju Chamber of Commerce President Election
In the election for the 25th president of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GwangjuCCI), Kim Bogon, CEO of DK, and Han Sangwon, CEO of Dasco, have both announced their candidacies.

View original imageOn the morning of the 26th, CEO Kim held a press conference at the 3rd-floor meeting room of GwangjuCCI, explaining his reason for running: "I have taken the courage to respond to the unanimous demand of local businesspeople for new and dynamic leadership that will create momentum for regional economic growth."
CEO Kim emphasized, "I will boldly take on this heavy responsibility and work hard to make Gwangju a prosperous city and a business-friendly city."
His main campaign pledges include ▲establishing economic governance with related organizations such as Gwangju City and Jeonnam Province ▲creating a new Job Coordination Headquarters within the Chamber ▲expanding financial support programs for member companies ▲activating networks among members ▲and establishing a transparent, democratic, and productive operational system.
CEO Han also held a press conference at the same location in the afternoon, stating, "Through this GwangjuCCI president election, I believe the opportunity has come for me to serve the region one last time with ideas I have had for regional economic development, which is why I decided to run."
CEO Han said, "Since 2003, I have served as vice president of GwangjuCCI for over 20 years, deeply contemplating economic issues and regional development," and emphasized, "I promise to elevate GwangjuCCI to a core policy organization for the regional economy."
His key pledges include ▲relocating the Kia Gwangju plant located in the city center to a nearby site of 1 million pyeong provided near the Gwangju Airport relocation site ▲establishing an Industrial Peace Award in the Gwangju region ▲and providing policy support for member companies regarding RE100 (renewable energy).

The GwangjuCCI presidential election will proceed with the election of 92 members on March 12, including 80 general members and 12 special members (nonprofit corporations and organizations related to commerce and industry). Subsequently, these members will directly vote on March 20 to elect the 25th president who will lead the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the next three years.
