Gwangju Dong-gu Supports Supplies for Youth Preparing for Independent New Start
Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 26th that it has supported 'Self-Reliance Start Supplies' for 17 self-reliance preparation youths (extended protection and discharged children) who are about to embark on new beginnings such as university admission, graduation, and employment.
This project was prepared in cooperation with ABC Mart (SP Gwangju Chungjang-ro Branch) to increase satisfaction by allowing each individual to choose desired items among shoes, clothing, and bags worth about 200,000 KRW per person, and to celebrate the self-reliance preparation youths starting to stand on their own as members of society and to inspire their will for self-reliance.
Mr. Kim, who is about to be appointed as a police officer in March right after graduating from university, said, "I am excited as if I will only walk on a flower path because I get to wear new shoes that I like before my first day at work," and added, "I am grateful to everyone who gave me strength and courage when I was wandering after both of my parents passed away."
