Gyeonggi Office of Education: 59% of First Graders Wish to Participate in 'Neulbom School'
About 60% of all elementary school students in Gyeonggi Province expressed their desire to participate in the ‘Neulbom School’ program.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced on the 26th that out of 90,161 first-grade elementary school students in the province, 53,252 students, accounting for 59%, wished to participate in Neulbom School starting this March. Students participating in Neulbom School will engage in the program for two hours daily from March this year until February next year.
Based on the student demand survey results, the schools are preparing customized programs tailored for first-grade elementary students. In particular, during the three weeks of March, which help first-grade newcomers adapt to school life, all schools are encouraged to operate customized programs as much as possible.
The Office of Education has already secured the budget accordingly.
In preparation for cases where regular classrooms are used as Neulbom dual-purpose classrooms, support for elementary school teachers’ research rooms will also be expanded.
