Jindo-gun Selected for Dormitory Construction Project for Nursing and Welfare Personnel

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do has been finally selected for the '2024 Rural Nursing and Welfare Workforce Dormitory Construction Project' contest.
According to the county on the 26th, this contest project, hosted by Jeollanam-do, was actively prepared by Jindo-gun because securing stable housing for nursing and welfare personnel is necessary due to the increasing medical and welfare demand caused by the aging population in the region.

View original imageWhen applying for the dormitory construction project, the county established a dedicated task force (TF team), held residents' briefings with villagers around the planned construction site, and conducted meetings with medical institution personnel to ensure the project's feasibility. After written evaluations and PPT presentations, it was finally selected.
The dormitory to be built in the Gyodong-ri area of Jindo-eup will invest a total of 5 billion KRW in project costs, covering a total area of 1,500㎡ with four floors above ground, accommodating 30 nursing and welfare personnel. The county aims to complete construction by 2025.
A county official said, "We expect this dormitory construction to improve healthcare infrastructure and the supply and demand conditions for personnel in medical institutions and welfare facilities," adding, "We hope that securing stable housing will also help attract population inflow to Jindo-gun."
