Jeongwol Daeboreum Jung-gu Single-Person Households 'Eat Ogokbap and Play Yut'
Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) held the event "Playing Yutnori, Eating Ogok Bibimbap" on the 24th to celebrate Jeongwol Daeboreum, targeting single-person households.
About 20 residents of various ages, from their 20s to 60s, gathered at 11 a.m. at the single-person household exclusive communication space "Noldaga" (20-7 Nangye-ro 17-gil, Jung-gu).
They made bureom packages containing nuts such as peanuts and walnuts, and bit into the hard bureom nuts to pray for health throughout the year.
They also mixed the vegetables each had prepared to make bibimbap. Kim Gil-seong, Mayor of Jung-gu, visited the event site that day and enjoyed bibimbap while engaging in conversation.
Following this, a Yutnori tournament was held. Participants said, "It's awkward since it's the first time playing Yutnori since childhood," but as time passed, the venue was filled with cheers, sighs, and laughter.
"I had a great time." Sitting around chatting with neighbors, those who completed the half-day journey of Jeongwol Daeboreum showed bright smiles like the full moon.
Mayor Kim Gil-seong stated, "Tonight, I will look at the bright moon and pray for the peace of Jung-gu residents."
