Hampyeong-gun Distributes 'Disaster Vulnerability Map' Analyzing Disaster-Affected Areas
Efficient Disaster Response and Resident Awareness Campaign
Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-ik) announced on the 23rd that it has created and distributed the 'Hampyeong-gun Disaster Vulnerability Map,' which spatially analyzes and maps areas expected to be frequently affected by disasters.
According to the county, the disaster vulnerability map will be used as basic data for rapid information identification and disaster response in the event of a disaster in the respective area.
The disaster vulnerability map was created to prevent disasters in advance and to respond efficiently when disasters occur. It indicates disaster risk areas by type, such as habitual flood zones, landslide-prone areas, and risk zones during forest fires and heavy snowfall.
The produced map has been posted on the county website and placed in the town and township offices. The county plans to enhance disaster safety awareness and do its best to prevent disasters by strengthening promotional activities with residents' autonomous associations and others.
