Gyeongnam Province to Issue Local Love Gift Certificates Worth 893.5 Billion Won This Year
10% Discount in Miryang and Gun Areas, 7% Discount Elsewhere
Gyeongsangnam-do will issue local love gift certificates worth 893.5 billion KRW this year.
According to Gyeongnam Province, the issuance scale in city areas is ▲Yangsan 200 billion KRW ▲Geoje 160 billion KRW ▲Miryang 85 billion KRW ▲Jinju 76 billion KRW ▲Changwon 70 billion KRW ▲Gimhae 67.5 billion KRW ▲Tongyeong 38.9 billion KRW ▲Sacheon 20 billion KRW in order.
In county areas, the scale is ▲Goseong 29 billion KRW ▲Geochang 21.7 billion KRW ▲Changnyeong 21.4 billion KRW ▲Namhae 20 billion KRW ▲Sancheong 18.7 billion KRW ▲Haman 16 billion KRW ▲Hadong 13.3 billion KRW ▲Uiryeong 12 billion KRW ▲Hapcheon 9.6 billion KRW.
Gift certificates can be purchased by choosing among mobile, card, or paper formats.
Mobile or card types can be purchased through gift certificate apps such as NongHyup All One Bank, Gyeongnam Bank mobile banking, and Beeple Pay.
Paper gift certificates are sold at local financial institutions such as NongHyup and Credit Unions.
When purchasing gift certificates, a discount benefit of 10% is applied in Miryang City and 10 county areas, and at least 7% in other city areas.
The purchased local love gift certificates can be used at various offline affiliated stores by region, e-Gyeongnam Mall, city and county shopping malls, and public delivery apps.
The national and provincial government subsidies supporting this year's issuance of local love gift certificates amount to 24.3 billion KRW, and city and county funds amount to 36.7 billion KRW, totaling approximately 61 billion KRW.
Gyeongnam Province plans to reflect the national and provincial subsidies in this supplementary budget to provide support.

Sung Heung-taek, head of the Small Business Policy Division, said, “Local love gift certificates promote consumption within the region, contributing to income increase for small business owners and revitalization of local neighborhood markets,” and added, “The province will actively support the issuance of local love gift certificates by cities and counties.”
