Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 23rd that it will provide purchase subsidies for 3,669 eco-friendly vehicles, including electric and hydrogen cars, this year.
The subsidy allocation for eco-friendly vehicle purchases this year includes ▲2,612 electric passenger cars ▲650 electric trucks ▲10 electric vans ▲397 hydrogen vehicles, with a total support amount of approximately 44.5 billion KRW.
Applications for subsidies for hydrogen vehicles will be accepted starting on the 26th through the Zero-Emission Vehicle Integrated Website. For electric vehicles, the subsidy application methods and support procedures will be announced later on the Hwaseong City website’s public notice board.
The city plans to provide additional subsidies for special-purpose vehicles with high carbon emissions, such as taxis and delivery vehicles, to encourage the transition to eco-friendly vehicles. Additionally, starting this year, subsidies will be provided for diesel vehicles used as children’s school transportation, which are subject to usage restrictions.
However, from this year, the mandatory residence period has been extended to two months, meaning applicants must have continuously resided in Hwaseong for at least two months as of the application date to be eligible for the subsidy.
