The Private Cooperation Women Venture and Startup Development Project is supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and is now in its third year. The goal is to create a balanced technology startup ecosystem through the training of women-specialized startup planners. Over the past two years, five specialized startup planners have participated in this project, discovering 36 outstanding women-led startups. They have generated a total investment outcome of 5.4 billion KRW, driving the growth of early-stage women startups.

This year, four specialized startup planners will be selected as operating companies. Each selected operator will receive support ranging from 150 million to 200 million KRW. The operators will use government subsidies and their own resources to discover more than 20 women-led startups, and plan and operate customized programs considering the growth stages of each selected company, including direct investment, startup education and mentoring, commercialization funds, and follow-up connections.

The recruitment for women-specialized startup planners is open from today until 5 PM on the 14th of next month. Details regarding the application can be found on the Korea Women Venture Association website.

Yoon Mi-ok, President of the Korea Women Venture Association, said, “While women’s technology startups continue to increase, the investment proportion in women-led startups still does not exceed 10%. We will actively support expanding the designation of women-specialized startup planners to increase investment opportunities for women startups and help them scale up.”
