Gwangjin-gu Offers Generous Benefits for Parking Lot Opening
Opening only one side of the attached parking lot is possible, support up to 30 million KRW for 5 or more sides
Up to 3 million KRW per spare land side, property tax reduction or parking operation revenue payment
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is actively working to improve parking difficulties in residential areas by promoting a project to secure parking lots using idle spaces.
Owners who open parking lots by utilizing building-attached parking spaces and leftover land will receive various benefits, and residents in need of parking will be able to use them at affordable costs.
The district supports building owners of multi-family housing such as apartments and villas, as well as companies, religious facilities, and schools, with up to 2 million KRW per parking space when they open their attached parking lots, and returns the parking lot operation revenue.
If 5 or more spaces are opened, up to 30 million KRW in facility improvement costs will be provided, and if 10 or more spaces are opened, a 5% reduction in the traffic inducement charge will be granted. However, the facility must be able to open the parking lot for more than 2 years.
After the contract expires, if extended for 2 more years, up to 10 million KRW for one extension and up to 5 million KRW for two or more extensions will be supported for facility maintenance costs.
Meanwhile, owners who open unused vacant lots or leftover land in development sites that take time to develop will receive up to 3 million KRW per parking space. Additionally, property tax reductions or parking lot operation revenue payments will be provided to encourage active participation. The opening condition is at least 1 year.
Parking lot openings are carried out within the scope of support by the district after signing an agreement with the district office, with improvement construction implemented, and are entrusted to be operated by Gwangjin-gu Facilities Management Corporation through resident-priority parking.
Last year, a total of 22 locations with 186 spaces were created, including the opening of attached parking lots in multi-family housing and leftover land parking lots at Hwayang Elementary School site, alleviating parking inconveniences for local residents.
This year, a temporary parking lot with 129 spaces will be created by utilizing the former pediatric and adolescent clinic site, accelerating the resolution of chronic parking difficulties in Junggok-dong.
