Ministry of Economy and Finance Visits Cheongjeong Hydrogen Company to "Support Securing Future New Growth Engines"
The New Growth Strategy Planning and Promotion Team of the Ministry of Economy and Finance visited the Korea Institute of Energy Research in Daejeon, designated as the National Hydrogen Focused Research Laboratory, on the 21st to inspect the research and development site and hold a public-private consultative meeting with major hydrogen companies.
The team reviewed the power generation fuel cell system and alkaline water electrolysis research facilities developed by the institute, as well as the achievements of private technology transfers to date, and discussed mid- to long-term technology development strategies for improving technology reliability and localization.
At the meeting, participating companies requested the government's attention to the creation of a domestic clean hydrogen ecosystem, expansion of support for hydrogen mobility such as buses and forklifts, and hydrogen refueling stations.

Yu Byeong-hee, head of the promotion team, stated, "Korea ranks first in the world in the deployment of hydrogen vehicles and fuel cells, expanding the foundation to secure leadership in the hydrogen industry," adding, "By effectively implementing the major hydrogen-related tasks* included in the New Growth Project, we will support carbon neutrality and secure future new growth engines."
