Chosun University Dental School, Nationwide Only 100% Pass Rate for National Practical Exam Two Years in a Row
Chosun University School of Dentistry has once again demonstrated its excellent capabilities and status by achieving a 100% pass rate in the practical exam of the national dental licensing examination for two consecutive years and attaining the highest grade in the accreditation evaluation conducted by the Korean Institute of Dental Education and Evaluation.
Chosun University School of Dentistry announced on the 19th that its graduates achieved a 100% pass rate in the practical exam of the national dental licensing examination in 2022 and 2023 for two consecutive years, and received the highest grade certification for a 6-year accreditation in the dental education evaluation conducted by the Korean Institute of Dental Education and Evaluation in 2023.
Chosun University School of Dentistry was the first dental school to open in the local community in 1974, and 2024 marks its 50th anniversary.
Since its founding, Chosun University School of Dentistry has been dedicated to the goal of "building a university that educates students well," and as a result, it was selected as the best university in the nationwide medical and dental department evaluation conducted by the Korea Education Association in 1996. This is an example that shows Chosun University School of Dentistry was an enlightened school in dental education from the early days when understanding of dental education was low, as it was recognized for the excellence of its dental education curriculum.
It reaffirmed its status by achieving a 100% pass rate in the practical exam of the national dental licensing examination for two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023. The national dental licensing examination is divided into a written exam and a practical exam, and currently, the pass rate for the practical exam is significantly lower than that of the written exam. Achieving a 100% pass rate in the practical exam for two consecutive years is a result that proves the excellence of Chosun University School of Dentistry’s curriculum and is unique nationwide. The overall pass rate for the national exam, including the written exam, is also among the highest in the country.
Chosun University School of Dentistry did not rest on its laurels and invested in dental education, resulting in receiving the highest grade certification for a 6-year accreditation in the dental education evaluation conducted by the Korean Institute of Dental Education and Evaluation in 2023. This means that the efforts to innovate and improve the quality of dental education in four areas?program operation and continuous quality improvement, curriculum, students, and educational environment?have been recognized in response to changing social demands. It also shows that the philosophy of building a university that educates students well, held since its founding, has been steadily practiced.
The 23rd executive team of Chosun University School of Dentistry activated the Dental Education Research Center, a dedicated organization for dental education development, and established a performance management team to manage accreditation, contributing to achieving these results through efforts to manage the quality of dental education.
