Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, Activation of Educational Autonomy Cooperation District Project
On the 16th, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced that it held the '2024 Education Autonomy Cooperation District Council' at the New Naju City Hotel, with education autonomy cooperation officers from 22 education support offices in Jeonnam participating.
The council was conducted to guide this year's Education Autonomy Cooperation District project, the Village Education Community project, and changes in subsidy guidelines, aiming to create a healthy educational ecosystem and enhance regional educational capacity.

View original imageThe Education Autonomy Cooperation District project is an initiative promoted by the Jeollanam-do Office of Education since 2013, which strengthens the regional education cooperation system by signing agreements with 22 cities and counties, and activates connected school education and village education communities.
The participants took time to evaluate and plan the Education Autonomy Cooperation District project in response to the increasing demand for cooperation among local educational stakeholders.
In particular, they discussed developing and distributing curriculum materials linked with villages to promote region-specific education, and establishing a cooperative system with local governments tailored to the circumstances of each of the 22 districts for educational cooperation.

Jung Byung-guk, Director of the Education Autonomy Division, said, “The core of the Education Autonomy Cooperation District project is to strengthen cooperation with local governments so that children can have affection for their region and dream of a glocal future.” He added, “This year, we will focus on realizing regional education autonomy based on the capabilities of the village education community.”
