Forest Service Receives 'Excellent' Grade Among Excellent, Average, and Poor Ratings
The Korea Forest Service announced on the 14th that it was selected as an outstanding institution in the ‘2023 Central Administrative Agency Conflict Management Evaluation’ conducted by the Office for Government Policy Coordination.
The conflict management evaluation is conducted on 45 central administrative agencies, and three grades?excellent, average, and poor?are assigned based on the overall score.
The evaluation criteria include ▲ proactive and preemptive task discovery and management ▲ establishment of comprehensive policies and formation and operation of deliberation committees ▲ communication with stakeholders ▲ operation of education and personnel systems ▲ actual progress and resolution performance of conflict situations.
Last year, the Korea Forest Service identified three new conflict management tasks, including ‘conflict management for restoration of large wildfire-damaged areas,’ and developed conflict management plans through customized consulting by private experts with support from the Office for Government Policy Coordination.
In addition, the Korea Forest Service was highly evaluated for its efforts to systematically manage public conflicts in the forestry sector, such as organizing and operating specialized training courses within the Korea Forest Education Institute to strengthen the conflict management capabilities of officials in the Korea Forest Service and its affiliated public institutions.
