1st Cohort of Short-Term Trainees Showcase Projects
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will hold the New Contents Academy Project Showcase from the 21st to the 23rd at the Hongneung Contents Talent Campus in Seoul. The showcase will feature technology convergence projects such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), mixed reality (MR), and interactive content created by the first cohort of short-term trainees from the New Contents Academy.
The New Contents Academy is an educational program designed to cultivate technology convergence talents needed in the rapidly changing content industry field. It was established in September last year and selects trainees through a two-year long-term course and a six-month short-term course.
Twenty-four teams are participating in the showcase. They will present various forms of interactive content, videos utilizing AI technology, and albums using three-dimensional sound. These include virtual artist music and concerts (MDM), media convergence performances and 3D stereophonic albums (Nonina), stop-motion animation realized through projection mapping (LAB537), kinetic art (Yesulgonggong), installation media art (YHC GROUP), social music VR platform (Band Lab), MR matchmaking content (via), AI music film (Artificial Spirit), and virtual concert platform (MandU), among others.

The Korea Creative Content Agency will select outstanding projects through expert evaluations and audience voting. Additionally, a preview of the exhibition "AVS: The Artist's Perspective on Science," scheduled to open in April, will be presented. This collaborative work by scientists, artists, and content creators is expected to offer visitors another visual attraction.
