Rapper Nafla Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison for 'Military Service Corruption' in First Trial, Released on Bail
Conditions Including a Deposit of 10 Million Won
Rapper Nafla (real name Choi Nicholas Seok-bae), who was indicted on charges of military service corruption and sentenced to imprisonment in the first trial, was released on bail during the appeal trial.
According to the legal community on the 13th, the Seoul Southern District Court Criminal Appeal Division 2-3 (Presiding Judges Kim Sung-won, Lee Won-shin, Kwon Oh-seok) granted Nafla's bail request on the 8th.
The court set conditions for Nafla's release, including a deposit of 10 million won, residence restrictions, and submission of a pledge related to evidence destruction and travel prohibition.
Earlier, Nafla requested a non-custodial trial, stating that he had served most of his sentence during nearly a year of imprisonment after being detained. He was detained in February last year, indicted the following month, and sentenced to one year in prison in the first trial in August of the same year, with the sentence set to expire on the 21st.

Nafla is accused of violating the Military Service Act by manipulating attendance records and attempting early discharge by feigning worsening depression after being assigned as a social service agent at Seocho District Office in Seoul in February 2021.
