Yongin City Supports Facility Installation Costs When Opening Parking Lots of Marts and Shopping Centers
Up to 44 Million Won Support for CCTV and Barriers to Resolve Parking Issues in Residential and Commercial Alleyways
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that it will provide up to 44 million KRW in facility installation costs, including CCTV, when parking lots are opened to alleviate parking difficulties in alleyways.
This project is part of the "Open Parking Lot Support Project," which has been implemented since 2021 to improve parking convenience in residential areas or commercial districts with severe parking shortages. Eligible facilities include religious institutions, large supermarkets, and commercial buildings.

If these facilities open their parking lots to residents during off-peak hours with fewer users, the city will support facility improvement and maintenance costs at 480,000 KRW per parking space, up to a maximum of 44 million KRW. The support covers expenses such as parking line maintenance, installation of barriers, and CCTV installation.
Notably, until last year, applicants were required to bear at least 10% of the facility installation costs, but starting this year, the city will cover the full amount. The city prioritizes facilities with high convenience based on the severity of parking difficulties in nearby areas and the number of parking spaces to be opened. Selected facilities must open at least five parking spaces for more than two years.
Those wishing to open their parking lots can download the application form and required documents from the Yongin City website, complete them, and submit them in person to the city's Transportation Policy Division.
