Seocho District Council Practices Warm Neighborly Love for Lunar New Year
Donation of 5 Million Won for Helping Neighbors in Need... 100 Blankets Delivered to Two Local Social Welfare Centers
The Seocho District Council (Chairman Oh Se-cheol) announced that it shared warmth with neighbors in need within the community through donations and sharing ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
First, at 10 a.m. on the 31st of last month, the council delivered a donation of 5 million won to the Community Chest of Korea, which was raised by reducing council operation expenses and legislative management costs.
The donation will be used to support vulnerable groups in the area. The donation ceremony was held in the council reception room with the attendance of Chairman Oh Se-cheol, Operations Committee Chair Park Mi-jung, Administrative Welfare Committee Chair Go Seon-jae, and Finance and Construction Committee Chair Kim Seong-ju.
In the afternoon, they visited the Umyeon Comprehensive Social Welfare Center and Banpo Comprehensive Social Welfare Center respectively, delivering 100 blankets to support low-income families in staying warm during the winter.
Since its inauguration, the 9th Seocho District Council has actively engaged not only in legislative activities to realize social values but also in support and volunteer activities for vulnerable groups. The council plans to continue the tradition of neighborly love.
