Seoul Yongsan Police Station Investigated for Obstruction of Business Charges
A woman in her 30s who falsely called 18 taxis to the presidential residence in the early morning hours has been arrested by the police.
The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced on the 7th that they apprehended and are currently investigating Ms. A (32), who is suspected of obstructing business, the day before.
Ms. A is accused of falsely calling 18 empty taxis at intervals of 5 to 10 minutes near the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, from 2:30 a.m. to 4:20 a.m. on the 5th.
It is reported that Ms. A set the "departure location" near the presidential residence on a taxi-hailing application and then called taxis. The phone number entered as the caller's contact was confirmed to be a non-existent number.
The taxi drivers who stopped reportedly gave the same response to the presidential residence security police, saying, "I received a call and came as guided by the navigation."
