Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju "Warm Donation Chain Continues During Seol Holiday"
Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 7th that donations and sponsorships have been continuously coming in ahead of Seol, the great national holiday.
The 'Nanum Storage' on the 2nd floor of the Usan-dong office building was fully stocked despite the economic downturn. This was thanks to over 10 organizations sending sponsorship goods worth more than 28 million won.
Following a donation of 1 million won from Daedeok Dental Clinic (Director Seonghyun Jo), the Church of God (Pastor Jongyuk Kim) delivered daily necessities sets worth 1.3 million won, and The Better Senior Welfare Center (Center Director Juwan Moon) contributed 1 million won in sponsorship funds.
An anonymous donor gave 500,000 won, asking that it be used for youth preparing for independence.
Donations of 3.5 million won collected bit by bit by local residents and about 752 sponsorship goods from social organizations added warmth.
The donated sponsorship goods will be evenly distributed to care neighbors in Usan-dong who are in welfare blind spots, such as households at risk of social isolation and solitary death.
The Sinchang-dong Community Security Council (Chairman Eunjo Kim) recently supported 60 care neighbor households with food sets worth 2 million won and shared rice cake soup rice with 17 senior centers, worth about 1 million won.
Hwain Deco Co., Ltd. (CEO Sangcheol Lee) donated 5 million won to 125 care neighbor households in Sinchang-dong through the Community Chest of Korea, and Sandeul Nursing Hospital (Director Seongyun Jeong) supported 5 care neighbor households with tuna sets worth 180,000 won.
Dosan-dong also shared food with care neighbors under the leadership of the local Community Security Council (Chairwoman Yeonsun Baek).
