40s Man Assaults Woman in Her 20s and Steals Valuables
A man in his 40s who assaulted a woman in her 20s, whom he had never met before, and stole her belongings in Busan was arrested by the police.
On the 6th, the Western Busan Police Station announced that they had apprehended and were investigating a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of robbery and injury.
Mr. A is accused of indiscriminately assaulting a woman in her 20s with punches and kicks around 5:20 a.m. while she was walking on a street in Seo-gu, then stealing her bag and mobile phone before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained serious injuries, including a fractured jawbone, resulting in an estimated recovery period of eight weeks.
The police received a citizen report about a person lying on the ground and tracked Mr. A’s movements through closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage at the scene. Subsequently, around 2 p.m. that day, Mr. A was urgently arrested near Busan Station. He was intoxicated at the time of the crime. According to the investigation, Mr. A has multiple prior convictions, including robbery.
